frozen vs fresh


A common concern when trying to switch to a more healthful diet is the expenses of fruits and vegetables. Frozen fruits and vegetables can be a great alternative to fresh for 4 reasons

  1. they are less expensive (especially if you catch them on sale!)
  2. when they are on sale, you can stock up without worrying about spoilage
  3. they are usually frozen at peak freshness*
  4. since they keep longer, it’s much easier to keep a variety of frozen fruits & vegetables on hand for spontaneous meal additions

*Produce loses nutrients the longer it sits on supermarket (or refrigerator) shelves. By freezing shortly after these plants are picked, more nutrition is reserved for you to eat!
